Hello Stamplings!
And Happy Monday to you as you begin your week with high hopes! Whatever they may be, I hope they come to fruitition. (Which makes more sense than fruition. What's a "fru?")
All around our neighborhood, hydrangeas are blooming with their many tiny little flowers all balled up into one huge flower. They are one of my most favorite flowers and I was inspired to bring out an old favorite stamp and paint.
Onefer
This stamp is Essentials by Ellen Mondo Hydrangea. I stamped the flower and leaf in black, heat-embossed in clear e/p, and then painted with my Ziggies before die-cutting.
The lads went to town winking and then all three of us schplattered with diluted guache on the flower and leaf and with diluted purple ink on the background panel. That panel was embossed with an SU Sizzex e/f and attached to a lavender card base. Finally, the flower was attached using foam squares. The sediment is a foil greeting from Memory Box.
Challenges
Beautiful Blossoms: Mood board with purple hydrangeas.
Cut It Up: Send me flowers.
Seize the Birthday: Flowers.
The Flower Challenge: Add spots or stripes. (Or both!)
Twofer
For this QACAS design, I used my NBUS gingko leaves 3D e/f from SSS with a panel of watercolor black paper which gives it a lovely texture. Then I simply swiped the raised bits using a piece of white chalk turned on its side. The circular sediment is also from SSS.
Challenges
Alphabet: C is for circles.
Let's Craft and Create: No patterned paper.
Little Red Wagon: D is for die cut.

Your hydrangea is lovely. It's the favorite in my front yard garden, and around our patio. Ours are just leafing out, so it will be awhile before I see the beautiful blooms. They last all summer, though, so it's worth the wait. Love the embossed panel on black watercolor paper. Will be CASEing this idea for sure. Have a great week!
Oh so pretty Darnell. Love the vivid purples and sparkle. Then the soft elegance of the black and white card. Have a happy crafty week!
Love that blousy hydrangea Darnell, the boys did a stella job there!
Beautiful cards, Darnell. I'll be back on Wednesday to link up xoxo
This year is whooshing by way to fast! I've always loved this beautiful hydrangea and you've colored it beautifully! Great job on the splatters! The embossed ginkgo makes a wonderful background and it was a brilliant idea to use a piece of chalk to highlight those leaves! A great masculine card, my friend. Happy Memorial Day.
Two beautiful cards! Your hydrangea is beautifully colored and so amazing to gaze at, and then your ginko gives off amazing vibes. Both are so refreshing to look at - have a great Memorial Weekend!
Your Hydrangea card is absolutely BEAUTIFUL Darnell and I'm in love with the shading you achieved with your ziggies! Your stripes with the embossing folder for the background really highlight that lovely Hydrangea and I'm so glad you shared this with us at The Flower Challenge! Your ginko leaves look fabulous on the black cs and I never thought of using white chalk to highlight raised areas (thought it was white pigment ink till I read your description!), but it worked beautifully! Two lovely, lovely cards my friend! Hugs. (Linda) :0)
Your hydrangeas have such depth to them from your coloring. Beautiful! You want to reach out and touch the gingko leaves, they look so soft. Two great cards. Enjoy your time with your friends and have a nice holiday.
Fabulous cards, Darnell!
There is something so lush about a big head of hydrangea blooms. They are also a favorite of mine. We left 3 lovely blue bushes in MD, but have a white one here...we'll see how it blooms. Right now its lilacs with such a lovely scent when the wind blows. YOur hydrangea is fabulously colored, and the ginko leaves have the perfect touch to them. Two lovely cards.
Darnell two fabulous cards I especially love those hydrangeas so beautifully coloured and the embossed panel is a perfect backdrop for them. Thank you so much for sharing with us at The Flower Challenge it's always a pleasure to see you in our gallery.

I love hydrangeas too and they are a long way off flowering here. Yours look beautiful love that colour. love the embossing folder too xx
Two beautiful embossed cards Dolly. Love that gorgeous hydrangea ... beautifully watercoloured, my friend. Love the texture with the dry embossed stripes in the background. Your second card is stunning with the gingko leaves embossed on black and then highlighted with white. I have never thought of using chalk ... such a great idea! :) Love, Lolly
D, I have always MONDO LOVED that stamp - your zigging and the lads winking brought this one right back to being as fresh as if it were born yesterday! Don't you love that those embossed stripes add even more dimension?
lest I forget - I am loving your Gingko very muchly, too!

Gorgeous hydrangeas beautifully coloured with lots of light and shade Darnell, and the striped EF looks wonderful in the background, and then the dry embossed gingko leaves on black card and highlighted with the white chalk are really great, and the chalk works brilliantly and a great finishing touch with a white circular sentiment frame over the top. x
Wow, the hydrangea is gorgeous with your coloring - that is one to frame! your birthday card is stunning too!
Just love your hydrangeas on the wood slats, Darnell, and your gingko leaves look amazing too!! Thanks for the inspiration to emboss this week!!
Darnell, your hydrangeas are stunning. They are so beautifully water colored. So happy to see you in the gallery at Seize the Birthday.
I wish Hydrangeas grew in Florida but it is just too hot. So I will have to admire yours in paper form. I was actually inking some up myself just today. This is such a pretty card, Darnell. Love all the texture and the spatters too. Thanks for playing along at Seize the Birthday.
Both of your cards are just yummy, Darnell! The painting on your hydrangeas is beautiful and the texture on the gingko makes me just want to touch it! Thanks so much for joining us over at Little Red Wagon again for this challenge!
Two pretty ways to wish someone a happy birthday!
Your watercoloring of the hydrangea is so beautiful in the rich purply-blue. Stunning really. I cannot get enough embossing. It just looks good with everything, and those stripes make a wonderful background for your hydrangea. I would not have thought to use chalk as you've done on your gingkos. Love the look with that beautiful folder. Enjoy your holiday weekend!
I can read you are a little bit further in the season; the hydrangeas here are just getting little blooms between the leafs, but I do enjoy the smelling roses! Love your coloring! And the way you used the pastel is a great way (have to try that!). Enjoy the week (and Monday) Hugs, Gerrina
We used to call the Hydrangea bushes Snowball Bushes. I love this big purple bloom, so gorgeous. Thanks for playing at The Beautiful Blossoms Challenge!

That hydrangea is so pretty, it took my breath away! Shades of purple are my favorite, so I was drawn to it immediately. Your second card is lovely, too. I love to emboss and then add a color to the raised portions of the embossing. You've inspired me to head down to my craft area first thing in the morning and emboss, emboss, emboss!
Two spectacular cards - love them both!
I'm always wowed when I visit, Darnell and this time I'm double wowed. The painting on your beautiful hydrangea is awesome in those rich colours and I love the yellow centres. The embossed card looks wonderful in black and why would never have thought of using a simple chalk stick that way? Genius lol!
Hope you are keeping well,
Hugs,
Carol x
Oh I love the hydrangea! One of my fav flowers. The Gingko card is so unusual and with a great sentiment die.
Two great cards, Darnell. I especially love the one with hydrangea. We have three in our garden but I think it will a while before they bloom. A clever idea to use the chalk on your beautiful second card.
Liz xx
The deep concentration of color in the center of each little blossom is such a gorgeous way to present your hydrangea, Darnell. Thanks for sharing your card with us at The Flower Challenge. I have a pad of black watercolor paper that I never use. I'm going to try your trick although I may have to do it with white ink. Thanks for the inspiration.
I bet that hydrangea is beautifully sparkly in real life - it's just so pretty. And I love the white chalk swiped on the black cs - it gives such a beautiful blue/grey colour!
Two fabulous cards! Your hydrangea is gorgeous!! Your coloring (painting?) is stunning and the sparkle and splatter are perfect! Thanks for playing with Cut It Up Challenge.
Beautifully colours hydrangea flowers Darnell... my mum had these growing when I was 'younger' - gorgeous blues.. and your Gingko embossed card is fabulous too.... must remember to check out my chalks hidden in a drawer somewhere.. I like this idea I think it'll work better than trying to gold emboss like the one in my bin today. Two lovely cards... enjoy your holiday weekend we had one last week, hugs Robyn
Stunning hydrangea Darnell, gorgeous shading and I love the purples, thankyou too for joining in at Seize the Birthday, Cathy x
